Google Expands Nano Banana AI to More Products

Date:

Over 5 Billion Images Generated Since August Launch

Google’s powerful image editing model, Nano Banana from Gemini 2.5 Flash, is rapidly gaining traction. Since its introduction in August, users have generated more than 5 billion images using the tool in the Gemini app. Now, Google is expanding Nano Banana’s reach to additional platforms, including Search, NotebookLM, and soon, Google Photos.

Instant AI Image Editing Now Available in Search

With the latest update, users can now access Nano Banana directly through Google Search. By using Google Lens on Android or iOS, individuals can take or select a photo and apply AI-generated edits using the new “Create” mode. This integration aims to enhance visual creativity and accessibility right within the widely used Google app.

Smarter Overviews in NotebookLM

Nano Banana is also powering new features in NotebookLM, improving how users interact with video overviews. The model now enables six new visual styles — including watercolor and anime — and generates illustrations that match the user’s sources. Additionally, a new “Brief” format has been introduced, providing fast, focused insights for users who need quick summaries.

Coming Soon to Google Photos

Google has announced that Nano Banana will soon make its way to Google Photos. While exact details are forthcoming, this move will likely allow users to apply advanced AI-powered edits to their personal photo libraries with ease. The rollout promises to bring seamless creativity tools to even more users across the Google ecosystem.
